2008: Des Moines Astronomical Society — 50 members 2007: Rose City Astronomers (Portland, OR) — 300 members 2006: Texas Astronomical Society of Dallas — 500 members 2005: Astronomical Society of Kansas City — 250 members 2004: Berkeley, CA 2003: Nashville, TN 2002: Salt Lake City, UT 2001: Frederick, MD As can be seen from the successful 2008 event, a medium-size club can host ALCon — it does not require a large club. What is needed is a core group of 8 or more individuals and a lead time of 12 months.
