Comet C/2008 T2 (Cardinal) and Messier 38

Tuesday evening Comet C/2008 T2 (Cardinal) was passing through the same field of view as open cluster Messier 38 in constellation Auriga.  The comet was discovered by Rob D. Cardinal from University of Calgary on Oct. 1, 2008. It is currently around magnitude +9 in brightness. It is expected to peak in brightness in June.

There are more opportunities to view and photograph it.  On Friday, April 17th,  the comet  passes just north of Messier 36. Next Wed/Thurs it passes about a degree south of M37.
