Arp 219, Hubble Space Telescope

Nineteen years ago on April 24, 1990 the United States launched the Hubble Space Telescope.  To commemorate the launch the Hubble Space Telescope project team has released an image of Arp 194.

An impressive stream of complex star clusters may be seen in the image. The star clusters are composed of  numerous young bluish stars. There are perhaps a million stars visible in the image.

Arp 194 is located in the constellation Cepheus. It is estimated to be 184 million parsecs (300 million light years) from our solar system.
