Hammers and Chisels Against Einstein
Relativity at Michigan
Presented by Prof. Rudi Lindner
Department of History, University of Michigan
The United Nations has declared 2005 as the Year of
Physics to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Albert
Einsteins famous papers that changed not only science
but the world as we know it! The 26 year-old patent
clerk developed his ground-breaking theories with only
pure reasoning and no contact with fellow physicists
at the time. We are still trying to understand and test
these brilliant ideas; but the world was a different
place in 1905. Many countries, and society as a whole,
had trouble with Einsteins radical new ideas. Join the
KAS as Professor Rudi P. Lindner from the University
of Michigan enlightens us on how Einsteins theories
were accepted by the scientific community as well as
American society!
