Roanoke Valley Astronomical Society commemorates Astronomy Day with a booth at the city’s Earth Day celebration. Members will demonstrate various telescopes while explaining the basics of astronomy. Our outreach coordinators will conduct several teaching activities using the Night Sky Network astronomy outreach kits and other materials. Visitors will be offered various materials to include sky maps, NASA publications, back issues of Sky and Telescope magazine and other handout material received from the Astronomical League.
