Astronomy Day 2013

This autumn, the URANIA Astronomical Association is joining the international Astronomy Day effort by taking the telescopes out to the Cişmigiu Garden in Bucharest. We expect to encounter the thousands of people who go for a walk in this central park of the city during beautiful Sundays, like the one the meteorologists have promised us on the 13th.

During daytime, we will focus on observing the Sun in visual light and Hα. When night approaches, we will turn our telescopes to the Moon (especially with the International Observe the Moon Night the previous day) and other objects – both in the Solar System and beyond.

This event is also part of the Urania anniversary year, as the club turned 15 this February.
