International Observe the Moon Day & Astronomy Day
Visit the SC State Museum and join people from all over the world as we observe the Moon together and celebrate Astronomy Day!
Activities include:
The Boeing Observatory will be open for Moon viewing. We may also observe other night sky objects later in the night.
See Catching a Comet, a special live Planetarium show at 6 p.m. and 7 p.m.
In honor of the Rosetta Mission’s Grand Finale on September 30th, this live presentation highlights the most exciting moments and fascinating discoveries made by the Rosetta orbiter and its lander, Philae, as they chased down and caught up with a comet, descended to its surface, and accompanied it on its journey around the Sun. Please note: there is an additional charge for planetarium shows.
Hands-on Astronomy fun: launch a rocket in the planetarium lobby, see a telescope demonstration, and more!
