Introduction

At times, the Astronomical League offers observing challenges associated with the annual AL-Cons.  This does not occur at every AL-Con, and the details vary from AL-Con to AL-Con.  They are provided for the observing pleasure of those who attend the conferences.

Requirements and Rules

The details of the rules and requirements will be defined at the AL-Con.  There will be four levels with associated certificates:

  • 20 Objects Viewed: BRONZE Certificate
  • 30 Objects Viewed: SILVER Certificate
  • 42 Objects Viewed: GOLD Certificate (42 is the answer)
  • 50 Objects Viewed: Special Recognition Certificate for Starhoppers
Certificates will be distributed bt the AL-Con committee and the results wil be added to the Astronomical League’s on-line database as well as reported in the Reflector Magazine.

Current Challenges:

          2.  2025 AstroCon Observing Challenge in Bryce Canyon, June 25 through 28, 2025.

Submitting for an award:  Submittal will be done at the AstroCon in Bryce Canyon.
