Night Sky Viewing Event!

COMMEMORATE NATIONAL ASTRONOMY DAY!

Date: Saturday, May 11, 2019

Time: 9:00 PM – 11:00 PM

Location: Zion Mountain Ranch, UT Hwy 9, Mt Carmel, UT

Directions: Travel north from Kanab on US 89 to Mt. Carmel Junction and turn left onto UT Hwy 9. Drive 9 miles to Zion Mountain Ranch and Cordwood Restaurant on the left side of the road. Astronomical telescopes will be set up for viewing just outside the main lodge.

Zion Mountain Ranch preserves Utah’s night sky with low intensity, shielded outdoor lighting, making it an excellent location to observe the wondrous night sky! Kanab’s Stellar Vista Observatory and Amazing Earthfest will provide astronomical telescopes, operated by enthusiastic volunteers for your enjoyment. Kaibab Band of Southern Paiute Environmental Director Daniel Bullets will present tribal perspectives on the beauty and meaning of the night sky to the Paiute people.
